Clubs across the Big Apple have certainly been filled with chatter about the news of Mayor Eric Adams suspension of his re-election bid.
This comes as no surprise if you’ve been following polls which show that Assemblymember Zohran Mamdami, former New York governor Andrew Cuomo and yes, even former Guardians Angel leader and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa ranked higher in the polls.
As Hizzoner often loved to say to crowds, “Numbers don’t lie.”
Despite poll numbers, it’s safe to say that Adams’ exit from the political scene represents a loss of a friend to New York Clubland in Gracie Mansion.
Adams made several pit stops, over the course of his campaign, to address voters in numerous clubs throughout the city including the Metropolitan Club and the Union League Club, where he was spotted within the past two weeks. A member of the Down Town Association shared with this publication that a man resembling Adams was spotted exiting what seemed to be a private lunch, but could not confirm his actual attendance.
